Questions, bugs, and feature requests all go to the same place. These are small apps made by one person, so answers come from me directly.

Please include which app you are using, the version number from the app's About window, and your macOS version. It makes a fix much faster.

Common questions

Where is my data?

On your Mac. None of these apps upload what you work on, and none need an account. See the privacy page.

Do I pay again for updates?

No. These are one-time purchases with no subscription.

Loopetize, my loop does not repeat in the game

Loop points travel as tags inside the file, and not every format can carry them. OGG and M4A carry LOOPSTART and LOOPLENGTH, which is what RPG Maker reads. WAV carries a sampler chunk instead, which Unity and audio middleware read. AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, and CAF cannot carry loop points at all. For a desktop RPG Maker build, export OGG.

Loopetize, the recording is much quieter than the music

That is expected. Microphones record with headroom, while finished music is normalised close to full scale. Select the recorded clip, open Volume, and press Normalize.

Pocketize PDF, my text can no longer be selected

Maximum reduction turns every page into an image to reach very small sizes. Switch it off, or choose a larger target size: in the standard mode text stays sharp, selectable and searchable, and only the pictures inside the PDF are made smaller.

Pocketize PDF, bookmarks or form fields are gone

Web links are kept, but bookmarks and editable form fields are removed when a PDF is compressed. Filled-in form content stays visible. Your original file is never changed, so keep it if you still need to edit the form.

Pocketize PDF, a file says it is password protected

Protected PDFs cannot be compressed. Open the file in Preview, choose File, Export, turn off Encrypt, save a copy, and drop that copy into Pocketize.

Pocketize Video, which preset should I pick?

Start with 1080p. It makes most videos much smaller and plays everywhere. Phone uses the more efficient HEVC format for even smaller files, which modern phones and Macs play without trouble. Original quality keeps the resolution and only packs the video tighter. Email makes a video as small as it gets while staying watchable.

Pocketize Video, my iPhone video looks a little different afterwards

iPhones record in HDR by default. Pocketize converts HDR to standard colors so the result looks right on every screen and in every app. On an HDR display the compressed video can look slightly less bright than the original.

Pocketize Video, where are my compressed videos?

In your Downloads folder, unless you picked another folder with Change at the bottom of the window. Click Done next to a video to show it in Finder.

Rememberize, why does transcription need the internet the first time?

The speech model is downloaded once, then transcription runs on your device and works offline. Your recordings are never sent anywhere.

The app says it cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified

This appears on builds that are not yet notarised. Try to open the app once, then go to System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. Apps from the Mac App Store never show this message.

Which macOS do I need?

macOS 13 Ventura or later.

Reporting a bug

What helps most: what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. If the app quit, the crash report from Console under User Reports is very useful. Screenshots are welcome.
